Technology Projects
The amount of the technology grant from Sophie's Foundation will range anywhere from $300 - $15,000 depending on the scope of work to be done.
All applicants must be organizations that are in some way involved with adoption. This includes, but is not limited to, adoption agencies, agencies providing funds or grants to parents looking to adopt, organizations helping families find birth parents, organizations that provide assistance and information to families pre- or post-adoption, orphanages, etc.
All applications are subject to evaluation and approval by the Foundation Grant Committee.
If approved, Sophie's Foundation's IT department will be responsible for the build-out of the Internet technology. The application should be completed entirely and returned to Sophie's Foundation at: P.O. Box 92, Bethania, NC 27010.
A project manager will contact you on the Foundation's behalf to help work through exactly what is needed. Sophie's Foundation will send you the Statement of Work along with the Foundation award letter.
Monies will be directly applied to the technology build-out costs. If the grant amount does not cover the complete IT build-out cost, the grant awardee is responsible for paying any financial obligation not covered by the grant.
Should the payments required for technology work not be made on the contractual timeframe, the contract will be considered in default and the awardee will be required to make full payment to Sophie's Foundation for the entire contract amount.
While the Foundation intends to adhere to the policies and procedures set forth herein, it reserves the right to waive or vary any aspect thereof in compelling cases in its sole discretion where the goal of the Foundation is advanced. It is expected that such instances will be infrequent.
